Local Box 605-4-16-2010-13:54– Company 6 was dispatched for a wildfire at the 200 block of Lucas Ridge Road. Chief 600 went enroute and advised of a large column of smoke, gaining size, requested additional units. 600 arrived to approx. one acre and a medium sized shed burning. Brush 625 and forestry started working the flanks. Tanker 619, Brush 925, and Brush 937 started working on the header. Engine 610 was used as fill site and Tanker 920 staged in the area to fill brush units. Brush 18 and Brush 20 assisted with mop-up. The fire consumed 4-5 acres. 600 placed the box available at 20:22. Fire Box 600-4-11-2010-14:37– Company 6 was dispatched for a dwelling fire at 107 South Moshannon Ave. Chief 600 arrived on scene to a rubbish fire with extension to a small wooded area. The residence was checked for heat and fire damage. The small fire was extinguished and 600 placed the box available at 14:53. Local Box 1744-4-10-2010-13:07– Chief 600 arrived on scene of a wildfire at Kyler Fork Trail off of Route 144 and requested Company 17 and Brush 625. Engine 610 and Tanker 619 were also dispatched. 600 and forestry go most of the fire under control. 625 arrived and started mop-up. Local Box 605-4-8-2010-13:36– Company 6 was dispatched for a wild fire at the 100 block of Kato/Orviston Road. Centre County advised of a two acre fire growing rapidly. Engine 610, Tanker 619, and Brush 625 arrived on scene to a fast moving fire traveling through a large group of pine trees. Deputy 601 requested a plane from forestry to the scene. Forestry’s plane made 7 to 8 drops. After the fire was controlled, personnel performed mop-up and 601 placed the box available at 17:35. 4-28-2010-Fire Box 911-15:37– Rescue 618 was dispatched for a wild fire endangering a structure at 174 Struble Lane. 618 responded and was advised of confirmed working fires in several outbuildings. Brush 625 was also requested. 618 and 625 arrived on scene and assisted with suppression and mop-up. Chief 900 placed Company 6 available at 18:29. 4-29-2010-Fire Box 605-00:10– Company 6 was dispatched for a working dwelling fire at 145 Gorton Road. Chief 600 and 672 arrived on scene confirming heavy fire on the second floor and through the roof. 600 established command and added Truck 216 and Engine-Rescue 1714. Engine 612 laid LDH from the closet hydrant to the scene. Personnel started an exterior attack with two 1 3/4 lines and one 2/12 line. Engine 610, Rescue 618, Engine-Rescue 1714, and Tanker 1719 arrived on scene and their personnel assisted with fireground operations and setting up of two ground monitors. The neighboring house was checked due to extensive heat damage. Once the fire was out and overhaul was completed, 600 placed the box available at 7:53. 4-6-2010-Local Box 1719-16:38– Company 6 Fire Police was dispatched to assist Company 17 with a vehicle fire at 1487 Pine Glen Road. Responding units were advised of a large truck hauling hay that was on fire. Company 6 was also alerted for Brush 625 but all units were placed available before responding at 16:40. Command– Asst. 4-2-2010-Local Box 605-13:47– Company 6 was dispatched for a wild fire at 939 Musselman Road. Due to the location, Deputy Chief 601 added Companies 17, 9, and CL. 20 to the box. Brush 625 arrived on scene to about five acres actively burning in a field/forested area. 625’s personnel began working the upper side of the fire. Engine 610 and Tanker 619 arrived and started working on the lower end. Companies 9, 17, and 2 arrived on scene and assisted with containing the fire. Asst.
